New version of Toledo Talk

A Healthy Me in 2003 - This is a new eight-week program to get Lucas county residents more active. It's estimated that 65 percent of Lucas county citizens are overweight. A national study last year found Toledo to be the smokiest city in the U.S. with neary 33 percent of adults smoking cigarrettes. What a combo. Blade columnist, Roberta De Boer, has a nice column today's paper about ejoying winter by getting out into it. I love the snow and cold, and being active outside makes winter easier to take. Maybe her final piece of advice will help with the overweight problem: "Maybe if we make a point to spend time outdoors -- instead of merely passing through it from one heated environment to the next -- we could let winter back into our lives. Instead of, say, just watching it on television."
