Sick-time abuse by Toledo city workers - "Roughly a quarter of city union employees used 80 hours or more of sick leave last year - that’s two weeks away from the job, apart from vacations - and another 18 percent called off work for 40 hours of sick leave. Some employees have routinely called in sick every Monday for months. The Ford administration is altering its sick leave policy to allow more management scrutiny of employees who use sick leaves liberally. Those who use more than 40 hours of sick leave, for example, now open themselves up to investigation by department heads."
