I'm surprised Orlando is the angriest, let alone NYC would typically be in the top ten which is not.

How 'bout that?
The one time we're in the same grouping with Ohio's big Three C's!
Damn that pisses me off!

Not as angry as this Ecorse MI Citycouncil Woman http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/08/15/D8JH1IDG0.html Do you think we could talk her into moving to Toledo and running?

After just a couple of weeks of reading this blog, no one would be surprised to find Toledo on the short list of America's angriest cities.

Mmm, I don't know about being angry per say but I am very cynical and generally have a low opinion of humanity as a whole... so I do tend to get upset about people's actions or words and wonder how some people muster the brain power to continue breathing, this is a great source of anger for me... but as for my life itself, I'm happy.

WHAT ARE YOU SAYING, JERK?! Huh? You got a problem? Ugh! I can't stand stupid people and they are freakin' everywhere. The only place they aren't is the mirror section of any store! I'm so pissed!

So I finally had time to read the article and this is what it said:
"The magazine looked at the percentage of men with high blood pressure, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and FBI rates for aggravated assaults, as well as workplace deaths from assaults and other violence.
Those numbers were compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Traffic congestion data were also a factor."
So areas where men had high blood pressure were judged to be angry? I'm sure that the high blood pressure had NOTHING to do with overall health of the population.
They also used the number of workplace deaths...we've had a couple of unfortunate events in close proximity (Jeep) which probably contributed to Toledo's ranking.
Aggravated assaults - have no idea if our numbers are up or down.
Traffic congestion? While our congestion is frustrating compared to what we normally experience, it's NOTHING like the other cities on the list. And I'm curious how it was judged and whether or not the 'congestion' on 1-280 might have bumped us up.
I find little validity in the article linked. If they'd actually SURVEYED people, then maybe...
Perhaps they could have surveyed bloggers as a separate group to see if they're more angry than the population in general.

Mags: I think a lot of people tend to be "angrier" online then they are in person. It's just symptomatic of what is becoming a culture of passive-aggressiveness.

Orlando isn't surprising. The traffic is some of the worst in the US of A, there are kids and tourists everywhere and the cost of living is right through the roof. Just drive through Orlando some rainy afternoon and you'll see the worst of it. Mom, Dad and three snot noses have been rained out of one day of their vacation, they can't find their way back to the overpriced hotel where they're staying, and they are all bound and determined to have a good time if it kills them. Take about 5000 of these families and dump them on the freeway, then watch the fun.
Mind you, Disney could have built this tourist trap somewhere in, say, Checkloslovokia, where it wouldn't be a problem to anyone, but no. They had to pick Orlando. Well, the residents of Orlando have made their nest and they can go lay a brick in it for all I care.
I'm with Maggie on the veracity of the survey. I think that if stats on various kinds of assault were compared we'd have a better idea of the relative tranquility of a city.
