Old West End still trying to stop new museum - "The Old West Association and three residents who live in the historic neighborhood have asked Lucas County Common Pleas Court to halt construction of the Toledo Museum of Art’s Center for Glass. Plans for the $25 million center were approved Jan. 9 by the Toledo Plan Commission. The center, which will house the museum’s glass collection, is to be built across Monroe Street from the museum."

This is suppose to be a magnificent structure. And what better place to have it than Toledo, the Glass City? This debate has been going on for a while, and I don't understand the problem with the West End residents. They claim the museum will not fit in with their Victorian style homes. It's a senseless argument. Look at the vehicles in front of the homes. Do they match the time period? I wonder if any of the houses have indoor plumbing or computers?
