Dundee getting bigger with new auto plant - "Shattering perhaps for good what is left of the rural nature of this small Michigan village, DaimlerChrysler AG and two partners yesterday announced plans to build a $400 million automotive engine plant that is to produce 400 good-paying jobs. The plant, to be open in 2005 to make four-cylinder engines, is to be on 245 acres on Ann Arbor Road, less than a mile north of M-50 and just outside the village limits. It will be visible on the east side of U.S. 23, across the expressway and slightly north of the Cabela’s sporting goods store."

Story from the Monroe Evening News. "It's too early to apply, but worker pay at the new Dundee engine plant is expected to average about $925 a week. The planned Global Engine Alliance plant in Dundee would bring 172 jobs to the area in its first year and ultimately might boost the area's work force by a third, an economic analysis shows."
