Michigan governor wants to rob smokers - That's right. When the government needs money, stick it to the smokers. This is why tobacco is not outlawed. Granholm wants to raise the Michigan cigarette tax from the current $1.25 to $2 per pack, which would generate $295 million in new revenues. Here in Borderville, buy your smokes in Ohio and smoke them in Michigan. But beware: "Michigan law makes it illegal to buy cigarettes in other states or over the Internet and bring them into the state, the Michigan State Police Monroe post reminds." Oooo the law. I bet people are shaking from fear. The war on cig smuggling. Yeah, you'd probably do more prison time carrying cigs across the border than if you robbed a store. Funny, I didn't realize Michigan had a State Police. You certainly don't see them on 23 or 75 where people drive 90 mph in the slow lane.
