Latest Ukrainian election news - "State Democratic Party Chairman Paul Berendt declared late Tuesday that Democrat Christine Gregoire had won the Washington governor's race by eight votes in a hand recount, in what would be a major reversal of two previous counts favoring Republican Dino Rossi. Rossi won the first count after the Nov. 2 election by 261 votes, then won a machine recount last month by 42 votes." Did I say Ukrainian election? I meant the state of Washington. In the United States. It's so easily to get those two territories confused. I think libs in Ohio are using the Washington vote-counting tactics. Just keep counting, and recounting, and recounting until Kerry wins Ohio. If they recount enough, they may find that either Yushchenko or Yanukovych or maybe even "Weird Al" Yankovic had won.

As opposed to having your good friends at Diebold deliver Ohio to you? As well as your good friend and co-chair of your campaign in Ohio, Mr. Secretary of State Ken Blackwell?
Come on, both sides are so dirty that comparing them to pigstys and other dirty things results in a defamation lawsuit from the Pigsty-and-Dirty-Things Anti-Defamation League.
You're whining about this stuff worse than you claim the liberals are.

Good point there. The last presidential election came down to a choice between the tax and spend liberal or the borrow and spend conservative. I still remember the republican party contract with America in 1994. Looking at what is going on now, all I can say is what happened?

I'm whining? I think the whole thing is damn funny. Yo Guest, you need a coffee enema to calm yourself.

Guest, here's a hint: If you're going to complain about someone whining, it's best not to start your post with... more whining. Think about it.

Is it not logical that each recount becomes more accurate (with observers on both sides close at hand)?

The "final" word about the election.
"The counting of nearly 3 million votes three times uncovered a series of mistakes, by both voters and ballot counters. The final hand recount showed that 4,018 votes of validly registered state residents had been missed in the original tally from the Nov. 2 election. A handful of ballots were found left in machines, hundreds more were discovered in misplaced trays, and many more didn't get counted for a variety of reasons."
"No Republican has been elected governor since 1980."
"The law allows for only three counts."
"Q: Is a new election possible?
A: Republicans would have to go to court to contest the election. State law says a judge has the right to "set aside" an election because of "error, wrongful act, or neglect" in the conduct of the election."
"[Democrat Christine] Gregoire says the state's election system showed itself to be a model for the world and an inspiration to children everywhere. (When she was trailing, her Democratic supporters were much less impressed: They have filed lawsuits against election officials and said Rossi was trying to steal the election.)"
Inspiration to children? That may be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard from a politician. Ask a kid sometime if he or she gives a damn about Washington state's governor election. Ask the kid, or an adult even, to find the state of Washington on a map.
