Ohio Patriot Plan - Thanks Rep. Ujvagi - The Ohio Patriot Plan was signed into law by Governor Taft on Tuesday, Feb 15, 2005. The law provides a number of protections for Ohioans serving in the military and their family members. Credit for the bill goes to Representative Peter Ujvagi from Toledo.
Many thanks to Rep. Ujvagi. More info is available at http://marketplace.publicradio.org/shows/2005/02/15/PM200502153.html

Bravo! This is only fair, considering these people are answering a call to serve our country.

I thought of you last week, Unitas, when this story came out. You've been updating us on this issue for nearly a year.

I am well against this war, but it is entirely dutiful to mandate that soldiers cannot be evicted, repo'd, etc. while they are involved in any such military conflict. This is an appropriate use of government power over the actions of a so-called free market. It is also handy that given the small number of people affected by the law, the price is paid by an equally small number of people (creditors).
