Toledo leads state in high-tech job growth - "Toledo was the only major city in Ohio to boast a jump in high-technology jobs from 1999 to 2001, and it did better than the state and national averages, according to a recent study. For metro Toledo, those jobs grew more than 9 percent during the period, but for Ohio, they fell 7.5 percent. Still, the author of the report cautioned about reading too much in to the Toledo numbers, because its high-tech occupations amount to only about 4 percent of the state’s total."

I wish the state would look after the existing high tech jobs, than blather about how many more are being created. i use to work at a high tech manufacturing facility in Findlay,Ohio , Intersil Corporation. We made semiconductors. The IC chips that go into about everything nowadays. Lost my job when the plant closed at the end of 2002. A high paying job at that. Didn't see the state coming in to help find a buyer. Had to uproot and move to columbus. Like the job here, absolutly HATE the traffic. Ended up with a bigger house on a smaller piece of property and another mortgage. Had the last house paid for. just so the company could make more money. Put 450 people on the streets.
