jr -- Why did Toldeo Talk partner with ToledoCity Paper?? - I was sad to see that Toledo Talk seems to have become another outlet for Toledo City Paper.
I was sad because I enjoyed the freedom that Toledo Talk had from other media outlets in the area. It seemed as though we could discuss things that other places didn't discuss.
Does the Toledo City Paper have some equity in Toledo Talk, or are they helping defray some your operating expenses? I hope that they are. In that case, survival is more important than all the high-falutin' ideals?
It's just that the posts seem to have "TCP this" or "TCP that" a lot, now.
Well, maybe it was time to take the next step in this business?
Take Care,
Sandusky still loves ya!

Erie Island;
Do you mean Toledo Free Press? I can't speak for anything JR is doing with CP, but there is no operating partnership with Toledo Free Press. We are teaming with Toledo Talk on a series of neighborhood forums, but there is no financial partnership. If TFP pops up here, it may be because some of the stories we cover cross over into the general conversation, such as our mayoral candidate profiles. There has been plenty of criticism posted here of TFP.
If you do not know the difference between CP and TFP, a quick check to the respective Web sites should give you an idea.

Jr makes it a point to write about things he sees in various sources, just because he shared an article he read in TCP about the Downtown tour means nothing.
Except he likes to make us all aware of events like that.

Toledo Talk has no financial partnership with anyone. The only thing Toledo Talk is involved with is what Fuselighter said: the promotion of the monthly community voices forums. Simply gettting the word out about a way for people to meet and discuss anything they want.
This morning at Brewed Awakenings, I picked up my copies of the Development News, Toledo City Paper, and Toledo Free Press. Today, I made a couple postings that pointed to info I saw in the TCP while reading it at the coffee shop. I don't see how you concluded there was a partnership with the TCP from that. Lately, I've pointed to more stories in the TFP than in the TCP. But the media source I've used the most is the Blade. How many times have you seen "Blade story" or "Blade article" in my postings? I've linked to many local media sources. That's simply standard operating blog procedure.
I had to say TCP in the front page posting about the downtown tour because I couldn't find the info on a website anywhere, so I retyped it. It wouldn't be right to post the announcement word-for-word without crediting the TCP somehow.
Sidenote: I'm planning to move Toledo Talk to a new server with the same hosting company. It'll give me more disk space at the same price. I'm not sure exactly when the move will take place. Probably early Sunday morning.
Obviously, I'm backing everything up to my laptop. In case the worst happens, I'll post status updates to

I'm going to try this again some time this weekend.
