Great question Alexandra; from what I know about Bernie (which is alot) and what I have seen Divamom say about her, I have concluded that Divamom is a phony -- she has been making it all up. How sad is that?

It's hard to really know, soboredbytoledo. Certainly the board gets used by local pols and would-be kingmakers for political ends at times.
I wouldn't be surprised if people sometimes engage in disinformation campaigns in posts.
I have not seen anything inconsistent in Divamom's writing, but then again my dealings with the Noes were quite limited, so I am not in a position to be a real insider.
What do you think, Divamom? Without giving up your anonymity (for which I am sure you have legitimate reasons), what can you tell the readers of ToledoTalk to validate your authenticity?

historymike, I definitely don't have any problem for people of toledo, from toledo and around toledo, to come on to toledotalk and air out their thoughts on politics, local issues, activities and the like. I like that I have this option myself to talk to fellow toledoans :-)
However, agree w/soberedbytoledo - I believe divamom is a phony. I was trying to be tactful by pointing this out with my comment earlier. By making that comment, I wasn't trying to say that it isn't ok for her to share her personal thoughts... but divamom's little contribution to Subcomandante_bob's parody article are not even funny - just very TELLING.

diva -- yes, i am saying you don't know her and more importantly you are not friends with her. She doesn't cook, especially with other people, and she HATES TEA! And when it comes to leaving Noe, well, I will not dignify your suggestion with the truth. Those of us who really know Bernie know her plans on that.
However, Alexandra does know Bernie and talks to her weekly.
So please, stick your nose in your own life, and leave hers alone. This is really getting obnoxious on your part.

divamom, there is no spell check on here - if i am uncertain, i copy my post into a word document and do spell check through that.
diva, i still remember your digs on bernie needing a make-over and you talk of doing things with her i know her personally not to enjoy....
Here is what I think about you.... When I worked in Manhattan on 9-11, I worked in lower manhattan and saw too much and try to forget what I saw that day often... When I finally was able to get out of the city that day, I stood packed in a train with others trying to get out of manhattan. 2 fellows were talking about how they had to run for their lives away from the collapsing buildings... When I askeed them where they worked, they said midtown - too far from the buildings and absolutely NO IMMENENT danger from falling debris. They wanted so bad to associate with the excitement, even as bad of a situation as it was. I was so irritated... I kind of attribute the same type of behavior with yours displayed on this board toward Bernadette. It's almost like an attention seeking thing, attaching yourself to the excitement, even if it is negative. My guess, is you may have known her in your childhood and have harbored some sort of jealousy. You speak such hostility and anger toward Bernadette and try to soften it by claiming you care about her and want her to get away from Tom. You have a tricky tongue and I know for a fact that you do not know her because when you get all sappy about how you care for her, I can tell you are lieing by the attributes you give the "Bernie" you know.
Listen, I have spent too much time on this topic with you; and I think this will officially be my last post directed to you about this matter.
I have learned from suggestions of others on this board, it's better to focus on more positive threads and healthier debates of this board than for me to get all wrapped up in someone else's problems.
I rest my case, and am moving on.

Why do you need to spellcheck? Don't worry about grammer, spelling, or punctuation. A mispelled word or two doesn't hurt anything here.
If I'm unsure about a word's spelling and I'm not feeling lazy, I look the word up on Dictionary.com.
In the little time I spent looking at spellcheckers, I quickly realized they were too expensive for me. The money used to web host this site for three years would buy me a good spellchecker that could be tied into the site. So it's not worth it in my book. I'd rather use the money to keep the site up and running than to end someone's spelling concerns. But I'll see if some kind of cheap, half-ass spellchecker is out there, although this is an extremely low priority item for me.
If someone knows of a spellchecker that works with websites hosted on Linux, let me know.

I looked at spellchecker apps that were installed on the server, which means the feature would be available to anyone accessing the site.

well you all win -what I have to say to MS.
