New version of Toledo Talk

Best Local and National Blogs Contest - Lisa Renee of Glass City Jungle is running a blog contest in conjunction with her weekly Toledo Free Press column "Blog It."

Send Lisa an email at glasscityjungle@gmail.com and cast your vote for your favorite blog. One vote per local and one vote per national blog.

Lisa has graciously removed her two blogs from consideration, which is a shame. Glass City Jungle has quickly developed into a unique media source in and of itself, and Liberal Common Sense is an excellent personal blog with local, national, and international foci.

There is admittedly an element of shameless self-promotion in my posting this, but listed below are some excellent local blogs worthy of a vote.

Undoubtedly I have omitted some very fine local blogs; I lazily just copied the list from my woefully-out-of-date list on my own blog. Please add any others you know of that I have overlooked.

Finally, please pay a visit to these and other local blogs. The whole purpose of this exercise is to highlight the wealth of talent and ideas that Toledoans are bringing to the Internet, and to bring members of our strong local blogosphere closer together.

Thanks for the plug on the contest Mike, and for all you've done to help support local blogging too.

I've been trying to keep current an additional list that has quite a few of the local blogs as well as some non-local blogs that have been "Blog it! Toledo" Blogs, it can be found here:

As a personal aside, it would have been very unfair to have either of my two blogs included since as you aptly pointed out the purpose is to highlight other local bloggers and to give the readers a chance to express who is their favorite.

Sides after reading Matt's post over on the Futon Report I'm glad I made that decision (lol)
