New version of Toledo Talk

    February 28, 2003

Talks once again on sports arena. - From WSPD.com: "Local leaders are meeting with a Chicago firm concerning a new arena on the location of the planned Marina District in east Toledo." Don't build the arena there. I agree with the idea of putting the sports arena near the Hens baseball stadium and the Seagate Convention Center, since there would be shared parking and no competition between the new arena and Seagate for conventions, shows, and concerts. And if the Marina District project is near death, why build the sports arena on the east side? Then again, a new sports arena anywhere would be good, but what are the chances of that really happening? Afterall, we've been hearing about a new arena for several years.
