Forth of July - Where do you all plan to go or do for the 4th? Seeking recommendations and suggestions. Any fireworks by the lake?

Comments ...

Don't celebrate it any more. Will probably rent a few movies myself.

Went to Holland's last night. They combined theirs with Calvary's Firefall event, so they had a live band, inflatable thingamabobs, and a pretty good fireworks show.

But there were two HUGE issues. First, the line for food was 45 minutes long, and it took an hour to get out of the park after the show. Hopefully they fix that for next year.

We're going to Swanton's on the 3rd, and Downtown on the 4th.

We have a great view of Sylvania's fireworks from our house, so we'll be watching those...usually a few friends show up with their kids b/c we have a great location to watch from.

As far as fireworks by a lake...most of the lakes in the Irish Hills have fireworks displays. We'll be headed up there to a family cottage on Saturday for a cookout + fireworks. (Each of the lakes has them on a different day...not sure of the exact schedule, but you could probably find out somewhere.)

At the neighborhood-enclosed park at the end of Heatherdowns running east, there is a massive show. Considering the rather close confines and number of big throwers who show up, it's a great South Toledo event and represents a large bang for your buck. If you really wanted to, you could wander out into the center of the park and have it all go off right over your head (it'd be smart to bring safety glasses in that case).

GuestZero shows up there every year ... however, this year it's financially wiser of me to avoid buying fireworks and participating thusly, so I'm just going to show up and watch this time.

I celebrate your freedom to spell Fourth without the U (nobody likes the Hurricanes in these parts).

FIREWORKS!!

On the Fourth of July, the skyline over Cedar Point will be filled with color as the popular vacation destination celebrates America with a patriotic fireworks display, scheduled for 10 p.m. on Wednesday.

The program will be presented by Zambelli Internationale, Inc., New Castle, Pa., one of the oldest and largest firms in fireworks displays in America. The location for the display is directly in front of the Aquatic Stadium on the beach (display will be fired over the water). Call (419) 627.2350 to get up-to-date information about the fireworks display including any last minute changes or cancellation notice.
