New site to keep updated on Super search - I put together a site for us "net citizens" to keep up-to-date on the TPS Superintendent search. You can bookmark it and check back for updates. The site contains news articles, search documents and important links. If you have any recommendations, please let me know.

What about Foley? As a resident, so far I think he has done a great job, and if he is willing, could take the tps district far. Are they even considering him as a candiate, and if not why?

I asked that earlier jim - I believe the response was that he can apply also
Chris! Brilliant idea. A clearinghouse for info from (almost) day one. This is really easy to use.....thanks! Plus - I couldn't get to the input meeting/s and this has the stories all linked. I really like this!

Jim, you might well ask why corporations perform executive searches for CEOs and the like. The answer is that at that level of elitism, they are looking for a "superstar" who is able to sell the organization and obtain the maximum funding. Note that this kind of process tends to send salaries and other compensation spiralling into the stratosphere and beyond.
Native organizational experience is not only not required, but is largely looked upon as a liability -- since such experience is an impediment (due to sympathy) to cost-cutting ... when the time comes. Corporations find it natural to obtain outside help when slashing headcount.
I'm hoping that Fisher and Torres understand all that mythology and try to ascertain Foley's intentions with the aim at simply promoting-in-place. After all, an executive search will probably run up to $100K. That's a pure indulgence!

I think Fisher and Torres will research it thoroughly. Mrs. Fisher, primarily, has caught alot of Blade flak (Lemmon column in the last two weeks comes to mind - the one where he criticized her for not having the budget info earlier after she ASKED for it earlier) for wanting to have time to research and read things.
After the last fiasco with the Super I think it's very safe to know that this is going to be analyzed closely. Very closely. They know as well as we do that we need help and strong (not partisan) adminstrative leadership.
