I always wondered why "air" performers just didn't learn to play (or play) actual instruments. Why pretend when a real musician would play the real thing? This seems such a waste of lives - but the idiot factor is beyond me. Play or drive - but not both. They put other people's lives at risk, and now their families are grieving, and why? To show off.

Just think, it could have been worse. It could have been a flying red bra.

Don't know if I'd call the 'flying red bra' worse, chris - these air musicians are dead - the bra dudes are looking to cash in by suing because they are idiot pigs, but are alive.

Starling, you have a point. The "Bra Incident of 06" did occur and the air drummers did die if you believe subcomandante_bob. Yes, it is good no one was seriously hurt during the lack of judgement in the former incident.
PS In doing some graphic design work, I saw the illustration in the previous day article regarding what happened and had a chuckle. I could just imagine the designer putting that graphic together. "You want me to put what on the road? It should be red too?"

A couple weeks ago I observed a teenage boy driving with a carload of other teens. He kept is left arm extended through the open window. No, not signaling for a turn. The idiot was showing off the new tattoos on his forearm to the world.

Kids do dumb things sometimes. My daughter went to Cedar Point several years ago with a group of friends, and as they were making the drive in, they had a bunch of these traffic cones (big orange barrel things), traffic moving, but not fast - and one guy (she didn't know him very well) thought it'd be funny to reach his arm out and knock one over as they passed it. Imagine his surprise when he broke his arm in the process. They spent the first 1 1/2 hours in the First Aid station. His friends were pissed.

Subcomandante_bob doesn't usually post 'real' stories - they're traditionally sarcasm. But I have to ask because I don't know...did these two guys actually die? There are no obits or news stories about them....Wasn't Josh Gibbons a famous baseball player? But the photo of the cars is pretty scary...
If these are real people, my sincere apologies....

I always thought every story that Subcomandate_bob posted was real ;).
Yes that picture was scary, especially the green car. I wonder what the real story behind that accident photo was. Hopefully everyone was made it out OK.

I hope everyone made it out OK. I'd hate to think that the families of anyone who died in that wreck would see the photo associated with such a "funny" story.

Toledo Tales has very high standards, and guarantees a truth content of at least 50%.
In the linked story, the following are factual:
* There is a city of Toledo, OH.
* There is a city of Maumee, OH.
* There is an annual US Air Guitar World Championships.
* People often play air drums, air guitar, and dashboard keyboards.
* Sometimes careless drivers have accidents.
The following items are not factual:
* The accident.
* The people involved.
Thus, in this case, Toledo Tales has a truth content of 71.42%, exceeding our already high standards.

Subcomandante_bob, your stories are like paint mixing at the home center. Mix a little of this and that; put it in the machine and let it shake; then you get your paint and the receipt which you need to bring to the cash register. Then you pay and bring home; open it with a screw driver and well you know-I think everyone gets the picture.
For those of you who want to read about the "Bra Incident of 06" please see the link above and read the Blade coverage of it. I am waiting to see which awards they win for this coverage.

starling - it's ok. No dead teenagers. This is 'satire'. It's - uh - funny/ironic/sardonic. Something like that.

Bob you should write a story about the one armed man who was attacked by other boaters for "rowing in circles".
