Celebrating the Universal Declaration of Human Rights - First Unitarian Church celebrates Human Rights Day, 2006.


SCHEDULE

December 9th at 7:00 P.M.

Dr. Michael Bryant: "The Theological Significance of Human Rights from Nuremberg to Darfur"

December 10th at 2:00 P.M.

Dr. Willian F. Schulz: "Restoring America's Good Name: The State of Human Rights Today"

Tickets for both lectures are $50.00 or $30.00 for each. (Free child care is available)

A reception will follow each lecture.

Dr. William F. Schulz, retiring CEO of Amnesty International-USA, and past president of the Unitarian Universalist Association will also offer the Sunday sermon on December 10th. The sermon is entitled, "After the Ecstasy the Laundry: Human Rights and Our Unitarian Universalist Calling."

Dr. Schulz earned his Doctor of Ministy degree from Meadville Lombard Seminary in 1975. He is the author of Making the Manifesto , which examines the writing of the Humanist Manifesto.

Dr. Michael Bryant is Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of Toledo. Dr. Bryany holds a J.D. and M.t.s. from Evory University, and a Ph.D. in Modern History from Ohio State University. A holocaust scholar, Dr. Bryant is author of "Good Death": Nazi Euthanasia on Trial 1945-1953.
