Camp Jeep anyone? - My husband & I and another couple are heading to our third year of Camp Jeep - heading to the Blue Ridge Mtns. of VA for the weekend. It's such a fun event for kids and adults alike. Trails, concerts, and trails... and test drives of the new jeeps, and trails...
;0)
Anyone here also going or know of someone who is? Would love to catch up with someone else from Toledo!
Thanks!

I've never heard of it before reading this post - is it something that has been around for awhile?
I suspect that our kids are still a little too young for something like this, but perhaps in a few years it might be something we're interested in.

I just can't get there this year. My wife had gone to a Camp Jeep when she was an auto industry market research specialist. She had a GREAT time! She and I REALLY want to go. We have 2 Jeeps - One Wrangler - LOVE IT! Maybe next year?
SJD: Would you let us know how much fun you had?
The new Liberty looks goooooood! We were drooling over the Liberty photo while we read the paper this morning.
SJD: WIll one of the new Liberties be available for off-road driving at this year's Camp Jeep?

mom2 -Camp Jeep has been around for several years. We've never gone to one, although we've owned Jeep products for years. Supposed to be fun - I wouldn't get into the crafty type things, but the off road treks sound like fun. I guess you take your Jeep & just let er rip, drive like a mad man in rough terrain, etc. I assume there are Jeeps to use if you don't have one - although, I thought Camp Jeep was intended for Jeep owners. My husband's been at Jeep for years, and we get info in the mail every year about Camp Jeep.

paulhem - I will let you know how it goes - am getting excited!
To go to Camp Jeep, you DO have to have a jeep. They ask for the VIN for the jeep when you register. We have seen it all there. Old & New, Fancy and 'ratted out'. It's all for a fun time.
I am guessing they will have the new Liberty there to at least check out. But I bet they have them there to test drive also. The 4-door wranglers were there last year. The new jeeps they let you drive are on pre-determined courses... and you have some one in the jeep with you -(like paulhem's wife) They have the owner 'playground' where you can test your 4x4 skills.
There are also guided trails. They are different skill levels - from Scenic to Difficult and beyond... But they are guided.... It's a slower drive.
Sorry Starling - not so much let 'er rip. They are, of course, all about safety.
Mom2 - actually there is alot for little kids... if they are big enough to drive the toy jeeps, they are plenty old enough to go. It's alot more family friendly then you would expect.
But over all, it like a big Jeep festival/county fair... With trails. They have all kinds of vendors there giving things away, guessing contests, and lots and lots of free stuff - Keychains, can coozies, t-shirts, frizbees, samples-all kinds of stuff.
We call it the 'Crap-tacular" Well, have to go pack. Will let you all know how it was when we get back!
I think this event is something that should be here - in Toledo - home of the Wrangler. All the years we have gone, only a handfull of people know their Wrangler was built in Toledo. How cool would it be to say, tour the factory, and then take your Jeep out and test it on an offroad course? Or have Jeeps there for someone to drive offroad - what a great sales tool! IMO..
