Flash: Public Wi-Fi even more insecure than previously thought - There have been a few postings here(and elsewhere) about public WiFi. And I'm not just criticizing about government contracted WiFi services. Nor am I criticizing the local Panera's, Burger King, Mickey D's, Starbuck's etc. I AM warning those of you who use these services that you must take personal responsibility to secure your wireless data communications.

Why I hate unions - I cant speak for any one else, but my opinions are forged by personal experience by me and my family members. There are a lot of folks out here like Jeepbm who take exception to my issues with unions, not that I really care, but at least let me take the time to explain how I came to feel this way - seeing as how both my parents were union members:

Minneapolis bridge collapse - Seems especially eerie to me b/c a friend just told me the other day that she's still afraid to drive over the new I-280 bridge...not because she has a fear of heights, but because she's terrified of drowning.

100 Pennsylvania Towns Revoke Corporate Constitutional Rights - Many probably didn't know that corporations, even the most dispicable, are considered humans under the law. They have constitutional rights, just like a human. Except they are largely above the law.

CNN/Youtube Debate Last Monday - This debate was probably the best I've ever seen. It wasn't a bunch of questions had tuned to how the media wanted to swing the debate but honest questions by real people. The answers were fun to watch.

Michigan following Ohio to a state-wide smoking ban. - I'm curious as to how Lucas County bar and restaurant owners feel about the possibility. Will it help business? Or does the nanny state syndrome make it worthy to appose smoking bans everywhere?

Old Line Republican warns America, police state - 2nd republican in 3 days to "Paul Revere" to us that the neocons are going to allow or create a terrorist attack. Keep in mind these are the folks that believe they should make biblical prophecy come true, the battle to end all battles, the return of Jesus, the end of 99.999999999999% of mankind. War with Iran, and using the constitution, referred to as a "g-damned piece of paper" as toitee paper. Of course they have a 150 "graduates" of Pat Robertsons "law school" to help pave the way.
These are the guards at Jonestown, who gave the choice of a bullet, or a nice drink of Kool Aid.

Generation Chickenhawk: the Unauthorized College Republican Convention Tour - On July 13, 2007, I visited Section 60 of Arlington National Cemetery, where the bodies of American soldiers killed in Iraq were freshly interred. Afterwards, I headed across the street to the Sheraton National Hotel, owned by right-wing Korean cult leader Sun Myung-Moon, to meet some of the war's most fervent supporters at the College Republican National Convention.

GEICO caveman to get his own series this fall - This apparently is not a joke, as I've heard it several times now at different sources. A lot of you are probably groaning right now, but I think it's great. I've just got a gut feeling that this is another low-fanfare program that just may turn out to be a runaway smash comedy hit in the tradition of the Beverly Hillbillies-taking a ridiculous premise and treating it as reality. The last one I remember was DAVE'S WORLD, which I also loved, and it was in the top tier of shows for several years , until some swine at the network deliberately killed it by moving the show around to different nights of the week and pre-empting it constantly for specials that sucked. This will all depend on the writers, of course, but if they get really good ones, I predict this'll be the next big thing. I'm looking forward to a TV series for the first time in YEARS-and a sitcom, at that.
