Impeach Lepkowski - Always smiling and telling people to "start packing." Then trying to sell their home out from underneath of them. No one tells him to start packing and then sells their home. That's simply impolite. The welcome mat is not legally binding. When did Dan get powers of eminent domain? - More>>

Government has some money to give back - From a Jul 11, 2007 Wade Kapszukiewicz blog posting: "If you are planning on attending the Lagrange Street-Polish Festival this weekend, be sure to seek out the booth staffed by members of the Treasurer's office. Among other useful information, my staff will have a hard-copy print-out of the roughly 125,000 Lucas County residents who are owed money by the state of Ohio. Most of the people on the list don't even know it, including the family who learned this week that it is owed $277,000 in unclaimed funds! So feel free to look for us this summer, or just visit this link on our website to see if you are one of the lucky Lucas County residents entitled to get some money BACK from the government!"

Help Identifying an Instrumental Song for the Mid 1970s - This is kind of a stupid request, but I am desperate. Any of you ever listen to Bob Kelley on WCWA in the mid 1970s? Even though the theme was mostly pop music he would sometimes play a very nice, peaceful instrumental peace that had just a touch of choral in it. Kind of a dreamy piece of music. Do any of you recall what the name of this piece was and who the artist was? I have been looking for it for decades with no luck. - More>>

Where do you go to learn how to ride motorcycles? - I got my endorsements about 10 years ago - and where the classes were, was behind MCO, (actually the classrooms were in the same building the county morgue is in), and now I have a pal who wants to take classes, but for the life of me, I cant remember the name of the organization who trained me. - More>>

Gun safety - Here is an accidental discharge, then suicide, very sad in my opinion. What will it take? Stronger laws, better gun safety education, force safety classes upon purchase. I am not sure what the appropriate future action to help curb these incidents could be, looking for some feedback.

Apple iPhone unveiled at Consumer Electronics Show - "[G]lorious specs of the 11.6 millimeter device (that's frickin' thin, by the way) include a 3.5-inch wide touchscreen display with multi-touch support and a proximity sensor to turn off the sensor when it's close to your face, 2 megapixel cam, 8 GB of storage, Bluetooth with EDR, WiFi that automatically engages when in range, and quadband GSM radio with EDGE. Perhaps most amazingly, though, it somehow runs OS X with support for Widgets, Google Maps, and Safari, and iTunes (of course) with CoverFlow out of the gate. A partnership with Yahoo will allow all iPhone customers to hook up with free push IMAP email. The 4GB iPhone will go out the door in the US as a Cingular exclusive for $499 on a two-year contract, 8GB for $599. Ships Stateside in June." - More>>

Question to teachers - how much computer skills are taught pre jr. high school - When my kids were in school almost 20 years ago, they learned basic keyboarding, and played "The Oregon Trail" on the computer in school - that is all they learned, until they got to high school, and then, computer skill classes were electives, not required. I guess I assumed that all kids, from the first grade and on through elementary school, were taught basic computer skills. I also assumed, that they are taught more than they taught kids 20 years ago. But I have have a 13 year old nephew who seems to have no knowledge at all of using a computer - how is that possible?? (He's not allowed to use his mom's computer - she said 'he'll screw it up'. No reason for her to think that.) - More>>

Home Rule on Guns is Shot Down - Somebody has to tell Mr Taft that when he held up his right hand and took an oath, it was necessary for him to have understood the oath he was taking -- and as well, the law of the land he purported to defend. To wit: It's simply not constitutional to bar or ban citizens from owning and bearing firearms. The US Constitution positively PROHIBITS such bans. The language of the Second Amendment is extraordinarily clear. Like with many states, Ohio's constitution affirms the right and even expands upon it, citing self-protection. - More>>

Eating soy turns you into a homosexual - I was thinking this was a joke, but maybe not because around the time I started incorporating more soy into my diet, I became more interested in art and growing flowers. I'm not eating enough soy because I still dress like a slob. This so-called column is by World Net Daily, and it's titled A devil food is turning our kids into homosexuals. "Soy is feminizing, and commonly leads to a decrease in the size of the penis, sexual confusion and homosexuality." - More>>
