Why I hate unions - I cant speak for any one else, but my opinions are forged by personal experience by me and my family members. There are a lot of folks out here like Jeepbm who take exception to my issues with unions, not that I really care, but at least let me take the time to explain how I came to feel this way - seeing as how both my parents were union members:

Restaurant bites Dust - Plea from Bar Owner-Poker Run - This just in from Smokersrights in Ohio about ban damage -
My name is Bob Ebbing, my wife and I own Sure Shots (bar /lounge ) in
Kettering Ohio. We have been hit very hard by the new law banning
smoking. I saw where Kelley's Corner in Belmont had to close due to
this new law . I grew up with David Angie who's parents owned and
operated this restaurant / bar for many years, it is a shame to see
it close because of the many self righteous people who think we
should live the way they want us to, and tell us how to live in a
FREE COUNTRY. in the past two weeks our bar has been a factor in two
poker runs for two different women who have cancer. the first one
raised over $12000.00 the second one raised almost $15000.00. we had
over 200 motorcycle ... - More>>

WTOL website smoking ban poll - WTOL 6 pm news told of a 'tell us what you think of the smoking ban' poll on their website. Hard to find (lower left side), and only allows a simple 'yes' or 'no' - no comments allowed, no results shown (why am I surprised?)

Gore Vidal mentions the Blade much like you would - negatively.
This is part 2, he mentions the blade like 20 seconds in.
It's about the 2004 Prez election in Ohio as chronicled in this book:

Beatles' "All You Need Is Love" to sell diapers - Sure, this is not the first Beatles song to shill a product, but there is something especially disturbing about this idealistic song being used as a commercial for Luvs diapers.

Upon Further Analysis - I've made my decision about the re-call effort and I've made my analysis clear. I encourage all Toledo Citizens to take a look at the argument and join in the effort to alter the future for all of us before we end up a lost cause.

People griped about garbage fees - wait to be taxed to fill void of ban - A lot of people were complaining about the extra garbage fees - I wonder how they'll feel when the U.S. does what the U.K. is doing - tax everybody to make up for the losses in cig taxes from the smoking bans. I can just hear the smoking ban lovers bitch when their taxes get raised because of it.

July 1 -Day Of Defiance in England - Civil Disobedience - English pub owners have designated Sunday, July 1st as the Day Of
Defiance! and plan to openly defy a ban that they feel was rammed
down their throats on the basis of lies and political maneuvering.
They'll be joined by pubs in Scotland and Wales and there is now a
growing movement to see bars and other businesses in other countries
join them in a show of solidarity and support. - More>>

OLMC tent revival - I recently went to the Tent Revival at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel parish this past saturday in Bedford. The guest speakers gave excellent topics to think about. I was a little disappointed in the turnout though. I was wondering if the information about the event was publisied well enough or was it just simply a day with too many other activities going on.

Bassett Market Closes - Business is business, and if a business needs to close for economic reasons, that's understandable. BUT, when an employing business is so insensitive that it does not give employees adequate notice so that they may transition with some preparation and instead thinks nothing of disrupting the lives of families, I say never shop at any business that the owners of that business may otherwise have in other locations or may open in the future.

PayPal Account Hacked! How in the hell? - OK, All you techie types, can any one explain how someone can hack into your PayPal account? I got what I thought was a phishing email late last nite that my password had been changed followed by a confirmation email from a company called VisionScripts that I could now download the software I purchased. I went to PayPal, through a new browser window, and after some difficulty because now I didn't know the password, to my great surprise there was an unauthorized purchase transaction from VisionScripts. Not a lot of money involved - $34.99 but wow, the implications. I did all the things you would expect. Reported the transaction as unauthorized and PayPal quite promptly cancelled it. Closed the credit card tied to Paypal (there were no other bogus transactions). Changed my password again with PayPal and other security stuff. Went to all the password sites I use for both ...
