Marina District Project: Mayor Ford pays back campaign donor - "Mayor Jack Ford plans to recommend awarding the residential, retail, and commercial development of the Marina District to a team headed by Toledo builder Bruce Douglas." The article mentions project plans, blah blah blah, which is now called Esplanade at River East. Mr. Douglas contributed $7,050 to Mayor Ford's 2001 campaign. The project is expected to be finished in 2065 and cost $72 billion. Funding will come from increasing Toledo's payroll-income tax to 58.5%.

Regionalism Smegionalism... What's REALLY going on? - I'm becoming more and more suspicious of "regionalism" if only for the fact that the doughnut economy still seems to be in place in Graeter Toledo and growing and it's even more awkward in that the Port Authority promotes Wood County projects for gratis, as far as I can tell. Wood "Honest To God We Really Called Something In Windswept, Treflan-Laden Perrysburg Township ‘The Golden Triangle’" County is not obligated to pay the Port Authority a nickel. But they sure get their attention.
