Most charitable states - Blue state vs red state, a correct view of the political landscape would be by county not state. Whatever. After the election, Geraldine Ferraro said all creativity and knowledge come from blue states. The producer of "The West Wing" TV show recently said most of the red states are welfare client states, taking money from the blue states. But ... "According to the Catalogue for Philanthropy, the top 24 most generous states in giving to charitable causes are all red states. Leading the nation in generosity is Mississippi, which averaged $4,484 in charitable donations per taxpayer. Nine of the ten least generous states in America are colored blue." - More>>
