New version of Toledo Talk
February 21, 2004
Mayor Ford's 'State of the Socialist City' speech - From last Tue, Feb 17."Mayor Jack Ford flexed his muscles, claiming success in fighting crime, calling for regional government, and landing a couple of political blows on the man who might run against him in 2005. He was applauded when he cited the enactment of the city’s ban on smoking in most bars and restaurants." Applauded because Ford supporters were present. If mentioned in the speech, these people would have applauded the other moronic City achievements of 2003. This line from the speech is interesting: "With a little prodding from the Blade, we refined our city vehicle use policy." Another example of who really controls Toledo. How come John Robinson Block doesn't give the speech?
