Ohio Spam Law - "Ohio Gov. Bob Taft signed a bill this week that outlaws Internet ads that are deceptive or misleading and bans false accounts to send spam. The Ohio bill was modeled on the federal CAN-SPAM Act but includes tougher penalties. The worst violators could face a minimum of six months in jail and fines of $25,000 per violation, or $2 to $8 per violating e-mail. Their computer equipment could be confiscated, and Internet providers could sue for damages."

TPS status may be downgraded - "Toledo Public Schools will likely be downgraded to "academic watch" status in Ohio's five-step ranking system. From worst to best, the academic ranks are academic emergency, academic watch, continuous improvement, effective, and excellent. Superintendent Sanders predicted that the 34,000-student district simply cannot maintain the state's "continuous improvement" status because of changes in state testing and the addition of several new federal and state goals that the system is required to meet this year."
