My mom called me in my apartment upstairs from her (I own a duplex). She wanted me to get in the containers since this wind came up. I went down about 12:00 Midnight, turned out the porch light, saw only one container (I have two for recycling), and went out to find the other. I found it easily across the street minus all the cat food cans, pop cans, milk jugs, etc. that I had so labored to crush to make sure the recycling guys didn't have to return to "base" because they'd filled up their truck. I spent the next 15 minutes going from yard to yard retrieving my recyclables (which was fast becoming their unwanted trash). I brought the container inside. I'll try to get it out tomorrow before the recycling truck comes, or take it to a recylcing center in the middle of the week. Nature makes a hash of our best laid "environmentally sound" plans.

Got up this morning and found the aluminum fascia strip from my neighbor's house wound around my Miata! Surprisingly few scratches.
My grill was turned 90 degrees from when I went to bed. It is a gas 4 burner, so it is not small. The rubber casters had their locks on. I'm just happy it didn't tip over.
Garbage can had disappeared during the night, found it next door beneath the neighbor's humongous 4-wheel drive truck.

A train derailed at about 4:30 a.m. near the Edison Bridge after wind gusts sent a few rail cars into Sandusky Bay. No one was injured, but 8-10 cars were turned over since they were stacked fairly high. No hazardous materials were spilled into the bay.
I checked the ODOT weather sensors after Midnight last night. Around 12:15 a.m. this morning, the sensor on the Craig Bridge recorded a wind gust of 56 mph.
But the biggest winds reported in the region came from the sensor on Route 2 over Sandusky Bay. This sensor consistently reported sustained winds of over 50 mph with gusts over 60 mph. Here's a snapshot of conditions just after 1:00 a.m.
Went to Kroger's, bought some cigars, did everything we could think of in order to be able to stay in tomorrow.
