Video Presentation , Explanation of effects of continued massive Immigration

I don't know whether the numbers he uses are accurate or not, haven't checked, but the video makes a good case for the U.S. government to ignore corporations lust for cheap laborers, and to ignore the "give us your poor" crowd too.

I agree with you, prime3end, but I hope that we continue to let in the students, and PhD's from Asia who are providing the intellectual capital to start new companies. God knows, America's intellectual capital is invested in the Superbowl.

What effects was the guy getting at? The chart gets bigger? Or gumballs fall to the ground?

Is he implying that immigrants are unproductive? I think 1st and 2nd generation immigrants built a large share of the country including much of the technology that TV and internets is built on.

I think it's the issue is more complex than that. It takes money and some smarts to get into the US legitimately. I'm guessing 95% or so of US citizens couldn't pass the citizenship test. Other countries also teach English for reasons of empire. People also move here since their countries were overthrown by guess who? Europe is turning Muslim at an "alarming rates" by people who are not so subtly racist.

Depressed wages are the result of economic policies that believe rising wages causes inflation, the separation of productivity and wages (resulting in stagnating real wages since 74)....

I'd like to see real numbers and a breakdown of those numbers by income. Many of the immigrants I know are doing quite well. Most the ones I see on TV aren't.

In other words, cheap labor is domestic policy, not an immigration issue.
