At least thats what his actions say. A nice spoof, detailing a horrible crime against humanity. A war against the science that would save your family members lives. How many millions are dead due to his effective ban on stem cell research?
580,000 per year in the U.S. from Cancer
how many from heart disease?
from diabetes?
all in the name of george's mind reading of jesus, and in exchange for the support of the necon talking heads and religious nutcases.

A war against the science...ban on stem cell research

For those of you not familiar with this issue, let me provide some clarity because these statements do not.

First of all there is no ban on stem cell research. The debate is whether the federal government should fund its own research into embryonic stem cells.

There is nothing to stop the free market from researching embryonic stem cells. Except of course, that the free market has found nothing in it. With venture capital pouring into all areas of bio med, embryonic stem cell research has come up dry.

So where do you go when you can't get a job in the private sector? The government, of course. People do that all the time, that's no surprise.

However, where this issue gets traction is that the left can use it further buttress their abortion campaign. To the extent that they can prove value in embryonic stem cells, they can further justify abortion.

The key is understanding liberal motivation. Next to the destruction of capitalism, the destruction of unborn life is a close second.

But then on to the second part - spinning the issue as an obstacle to science. This is the same as spinning wealth redistribution as "compassion".

Wealth redistribution is about destroying capitalism, not about compassion.

Embryonic stem cells is about justifying abortion, not about science.

So unless Wall St traders can make some money off of it, it's not worth it? Surprisingly short-sighted thinking when you consider that biomed research (which now has capital pouring into it, as you say) was at first unprofitable.

First of all, yes. If Wall St. doesn't want it that means that no one wants it - at least not enough to make an economically sustainable pursuit.

But the more important question is, given all of the things that embyonic stem cells are supposed to cure (Parkinsons, Alszheimers and a litany of other promises), why isn't Wall St. interested? I mean, Wall St. is a bunch of greedy, capitalist pigs right? Then why wouldn't they be falling all over themselves to get in on the action if all the promises are true?

Something doesn't add up. Its not that hard to figure out Chris.

LOL, I just noticed the promises right here in this post. Prime claims that embryonic cells are going to cure cancer, heart disease and diabetes. Yet big pharmacueticals don't want to fund it themselves and get the IP for those things. So is that to say that all the pharmaceuticals have gotten together and unanimously decided not to tap into billions in revenue and profit because of their religious views?

Damn those backwards, flat earth midwesterners.

Then why are you having such a problem? When the market fails to meet a need, federal funding can provide a well-needed shot in the arm. Some of the top potential stocks for 2008 are companies that deal in stem cell research. This is in no small part due to the breakthrough last November, done by university research.

No doubt you'll want companies like Invitrogen to give back any money they get, since it was initiated by university research.

bush allowed 45 million on his "bush line of approved stem cells" None, are likely to result in a treatment to save lives because the bush lines are grown on mouse cells and there is concern about mouse virus and mouse dna contamination. Bush won't allow new cell lines to be developed with federal money. NIH cash is the primary mover of basic research. Bush has hacked it considerably. About 150 million has gone to adult stem cell research since the ban. They are not capable of becoming all of the 220 tissue types in the body, and you have to take immune suppressant drugs for life if they come out with a therapy. Those drugs are very nasty, even carcinogenic, and expensive. You don't need them with embryonic stem cell derived therapies in the pipeline.

LOL,, babble you are drinking some strong stuff today, you got it all wrong. I've been closely following this for a decade. Bush rules ARE AN EFFECTIVE BAN on federal funding of universities ,etc, who want to do research on embryonic stem cells that are thrown in the trash unused every other day. Stop quoting your minister, youre just plain wrong.

The reason embryonic stem cells aren't in a therapy right now today, is that bush instructed his FDA to deny a critical human trial on spinal cord repair just before the last election.

The skin cell "induced" stem cellness in skin cells are so fucked up that they have 1000 genes switched incorrectly. They will never , ever , be approved for that reason. Nobody knows what the switched genes do and it will take decades to figure that out.

The video is correct. Embryonic stem cells have a finite shelf life even though frozen in liquid nitrogen, then they are no longer fit for implant into a woman, and you throw them in the garbage. Its done all the time all across the world.

Big pharma is very political, they paid big money to get us all paying medicare pard d drug premiums so we could go from getting our meds for free when very sick, to paying several thousand a year. The paid bush big time to privatize part d. Big time. So yes they have been beholden to the bushmaster.

But as we speak they are buying up biotech companies, seeing that they have no regenerative medicine knowledge or products of their own, they haven't even for the most part moved out of toxic chemo-land. Ignoring the several unique cancer hallmarks that are directly derived from their similarities with embryonic stem cells.

Babble , your wrong. This isn't about abortion , nobody is using aborted fetuses for this research. They use the excess from fertility clinics. Bush's war on science will soon end, and you will see the truth but only after he is out of the oil house, I mean whitehouse, working for an oil company,, which he's doing even there.

Watch the video again babble. Its not about abortion you foo, its about saving lives with microscopic eggs that we throw in the trash every day. Notice the holy revererend Mofo's didn't object to the use of these fertility clinics till scientists decided they could cure most human diseases with the cells. No church objected to throwing the excess cells away, but they object to using them for saving life. How godly. Preachers are mostly gay, like the priests. They are closet gays for Jesus trying ever harder to keep us in fear of an early death and fiery hell. Stopping funding of stem cell research is one sure way to assure the human lifespan makes no serious increase. And the whole battle of it has been intentionally sewn with lies by the churchies. A fertilized egg is the size of a period in this sentence. No little eyes or hands, just little round cells.

Lets look at the "enlightenment" the church has given us over the centuries. They fought against a round earth, an earth that revolved around the sun, against antibiotics (they denied gods will that you die from infection), against surgery , against autopsy under any circumstance, against blood transfusions, and now embryonic stem cell research.

The church loves these emotional issues, they raise lots of cash, and the church invests nothing in the battle except ungodly pontifications that are outright lies , the rest they say is intentionally misleading.

There is little difference in governments when they are infiltrated by zealots who bring their religious stupidity to bear on the rest of us. You can lump them all together and call them Talliban.

The so called advance on skin cells, making them embryonic is dangerous and misleading. Those cells have over 1000 cells that are switched incorrectly, because they were skin cells once. It will likely Never result in a lifesaving therapy.

A stem cell and a cancer stem cell are so very alike , depend on hundreds of the same genes for growth and the initiation of glycolysis etc, that when you do a gene screen of the two, they are more like each other than they are like a normal cell.
Yes, cancer, repairing heart disease, diabetes, and many other diseases are dependent on embryonic stem cell study and treatments. The sever year effective ban has driven away a whole generation of scientists who would have entered the field. In the meantime, millions die or are disabled in the U.S. annually, because bush and the pope and the talking head preachers on tv, claim to know what jesus wants.

Stone age idiocy for certain.

Hey, primething,

You wouldn't know a crime against humanity unless it were committed against...

...oh forget about it.

You have no idea what it means to speak about, or write about...

...a crime against humanity.

One must first BE human to comprehend when a human has been violated.

You are not qualified to write upon this topic.

Wow, now I'm "not even human", shit, that really makes you well,,, something akin to a snail by comparison.

Airtrainer, I see you've dug deeply into your bag of smarts to come out with yet another deluge of smart-facts to logically engage in a meaningful discussion. At least I'm talking about science. you on the other hand are simply acting angrily because of the brainwashing you've received from a pedophile priest about what the magic man in the sky thihks about a microscopic egg.

A crime against humanity is actually a good way to put it.
580 thousand Americans a year die of cancer, its a disease of an Embryonic stem cell (Laird USC Nature Genetics) also (E.V. Gostjeva et al M.I.T., paper on bell shaped nuclei)

at least 500,000 Americans a year dying of heart disease, when these cells could be curing it now.

how man die a year in the US from diabetes airtrainer?

You do the math, 7 years delay times a million or so lives a year. Thats mass murder via the bush and necon war on science.

Yer and idiot sir.
