Vote For Clinton on Tuesday

Just throwing it out there that independents and republicans should vote for Clinton on Tuesday since McCain has Ohio won. Keep the battle between Hilliary and Obama alive.

I can't wait!! It will be the first democrat I ever voted for, other than John McHugh.

That's when we get that ridiculous 3/4 tax out the window too, correct?

I believe in Ohio you have to be registered as a Democrat to vote in the Democratic primary.

Things that would be as statistically effective as voting for Clinton on Tuesday:

1. Voting for Obama.
2. Getting a manicure.
3. Praying for Clinton.
4. Praying for Obama.
5. Voting for McCain.
6. Voting for another member of the Keating 5.
7. Learning to juggle.
8. Practice hibernating.

Feel free to do whatever you want on Tuesday, just pretend that it matters even if it really doesn't.

From what I've understood, if you vote in the Democratic Primary it automatically registers you as a Democrat.

I don't know what to do. I want a primary for "None of the above".

Does that prevent you from voting republican in Nov.?

posted by CharlieA-Z on Mar 03, 2008 at 05:01:19 pm     #

My understanding is that you can vote tomorrow as a Democrat and then in November as a Republican or vise versa.

Voting for Obama to try to put a stake through those bastards' hearts, sorry.

Rush Limbaugh IS a big fat idiot for starting this 'to keep the chaos alive'shit. There is one last chance to kill the snake forever. May God help your souls if you are a conservative and cross over to help the Clintons, if it results in their getting in office for another eight years.

Voting for Obama because I can't stand Hillary as a human being and I honestly see voting for a candidate that you don't actually want just to keep a "battle alive" as childish and stupid.

Have a lovely day.

Voting for Hillary because the emperor has no clothes, imo.

It'll be an interesting Wednesday, that's for sure.

To clarify the Primary rules, you can vote in whichever party's Primary you choose regardless of past affiliation. However, voting in one party's Primary does in effect now register you as a member of that party, and you may have to sign a statement to that affect. Most people don't care about this, really, as it has no effect except now your "new" party will start bugging you with campaign mailers and phone calls come the next election -- in this case, the November GE. So for the most part there are no real consequences in being registered with one party or another, other than annoyance, UNLESS you yourself hope to hold office some day or work for someone's campaign some day -- a party registration in opposition to your own candidacy or that of the candidate you want to work for could cause questions, since voter registrations are public records. But, meh, I'm not even sure that'd be a big deal. Lots of politicians change parties at some point. For example, we all know that Hillary was a Republican in college.

Wasn't it a Clinton that started NAFTA?

Isn't one of the reason the country is in the shape it's in is because of NAFTA?

Could there be some correlation here?

Yes, Bill signed NAFTA into being and Hillary was right beside him when he did it, and is now saying Nafta's bad for the country.

I also heard her bitching about Bush awarding No-bid contracts to big business, while ignoring that Bill awarded no bid contracts himself - to HALIBURTON, no less.

At my polling place, choosing the primary party amounted to nothing more than telling the poll worker which electronic ballot card you wanted. I didn't notice anyone recording my choice and I certainly didn't sign any forms.

Personally I don't see any difference in the fundamental philosophies of Obama and Hillary. And I don't harbor any deep seated hatred of one personality over the other.

Policy is what matters to me. Either way, with Obama or Hillary, you are going to get maximum liberal policy on all fronts. More spending, an attempt to close the deficit by raising taxes, protectionism, more central control of both economic and social issues and, of course, this "change" will be fueled by the political energy created by dividing the population on every imaginable distinction including class and race. This kind of policy is what I would like to discourage.

That said, long primaries hurt parties. It drains their cash and promotes internal divisions. It also provides more opportunity for the candidates to publicly criticize each other.

So I think, as long as the race is effectively over in your own party, there are some solid practical arguments for trying to affect the outcome of the other race

I voted for Hiliarity today. It was great-lying to the democrats in the polling place-lying to the democrat that gave my voters card to stick in the machine, and then after voting against Alabama, also voting against the two main tax levies. It does not get much better than that!

No the Clintons did NOT "start" NAFTA. The first Bush did it in negotiations in FLorida before the end of his presidency. I know old Bill signed it but he didnt start it.
