While the "Lion King" was excellent"!! Why are the seats devices of Human Torture? They are so uncomfortable Its a dam shame, people have to pay so much for "great entertainment"! But get home in pain? Why don't they just put in bleachers like the high schools have,"THEN THEY COULD SQUEEZE IN A FEW EXTRA BODIES"!

They might have been designed for smaller people. The average male is 5'9" or 5'10" depending on who you ask. And talking about obesity and the growing girthiness of the population is played out.
Everything is designed for predominately for shorter people. Toilets, doors, golf clubs, desks, dinner tables, high heels, stilts, cars.... you'd think ergonomics and marketers would wind up on the same page eventually.
But it also helps them to make a better production. If I'm going to be sitting uncomfortably for 1-3 hours, I better have something really wothwhile to make my mind tolerate bound arms and legs. Or at least that's my complete BS take on it. Otherwise I'll take an aisle seat.
My daughter and I paid quite a bit extra to sit in one of the front rows and her seat was actually broken and facing down. She had to brace herself throughout the performance since there were no comparable seats available. Another real problem I've noticed there is you can never see over the person in front of you. At 5'5',sometimes I can only listen to the performance.

I saw Jeff Dunham there and agree. I'm in the same boat as historymike. It's not the width of the chairs or the hardwood that bothered me as much, just the length from chair to chair. I had to sit with one leg in the aisle and the other in a Y fashion just to fit.
Agree, perhaps time to update the place.

I noticed that at Spamalot, Blacjac687. At first I thought it was just me (I'm 6'5" and about 230 lbs). I'm glad I am not alone in feeling cramped, especially when shelling $40 a ticket or more.
