I'm going with Strom Thurmond. Since McCain got physical with him when he was 92 in the Senate. And since he is dead, he'll make McCain look lively.

I think Romey would have to be the leader, but I don't think he's anywhere near a sure-thing. I've wondered about getting Lieberman to run with McCain. I don't think Lieberman would cost any votes on the Right and would capture a ton of votes in the Center.
