A Pet Killer Lurking in West Tledo?

I came across handmade signs today warning of a possible pet killer in West Toledo. Anyone hear about this?

What did that pet do to get killed, thats the question I would have to ask.

Killing pets or any animal for fun is evil. Were they shot with a real gun or a BB gun? What neighborhood is this? This should probably be reported to the police.

Also, people should not let their pets wander outside alone. Did you know the life expectancy of indoor cats is more than twice that of outdoor cats?

Agreed, we need a little more information. Unfortunately there are plenty of jerks that abuse animals.

Anybody know the story about the sign on douglas rd up in michigan that says "Judge So and So sentenced our kids dogs to death"..

Im assuming the dogs bit someone and were court ordered to be put down.

Billy: Yeah, I've seen that several times. I don't remember the story (my wife told me), but you are correct in what happened. I just don't have the details.

The wife of a friend of my brother called me to see if had gotten hold of someone who works at "Paws and Whiskers", the only "no kill" cat shelter in Toledo. I hadn't, but I made the effort again, and told the woman the situation. They are pretty much "full up", and she made an effort herself to secure room. "Paws" had room so I went over to the couple's house, and picked up the mama and three kittens. Since he is out of work, and she gets SSI I decided to put in a "contribution" for these animals. But it got me thinking. I would like to help find homes for all the animals (mostly cats) that live in our neighborhood. I have 10 cats between my mom and me so there is no room at this "inn". I've heard that Humane Ohio has made it easier to bring in strays for neutering, and then release back into a neighborhood, but many people don't want that. You can take them to the Maumee Valley Humane Society who will put them to sleep for you right there (they did that for me when I took a stray over that I thought was going to be given shots and put up for adoption). What difference does it make if someone puts a nice, clean shot into an abandoned animal, or takes it to a proxy killer like the humane societies? You save $25.00 they ask as a contribution for putting the animal down. And a lot of those who kept animals while they were barely making it (and are now losing employment) will probably have to make that choice.

If interested in west toledo, drop them off near my house. I feed the outside cats every night. I welcome the cats to keep the rats and mice away. They haven't become a problem so far.

I also don't mind stray cats to keep the mice and rats away. Toledo was built on a swamp. I literally see the rats crossing the steet. I saw A stray Opposum in my flower bed last night.
