The Rise and Fall of Marc Dann

Surprised that no one has made any comments about this matter. I've got a feeling that the rest of the story will be something else. If Dann was willing to resign in order to stop the investigation, I can only imagine what they are going to find. I think kudos are also in order to the Gov. and other Democrats for moving swiftly in demanding Dann's resignation. An administration that came into office on the basis of restoring ethical behavior has to shut down this kind of behavior immediately.

Investigation fallout aside - will the campaign to fill that office be overshadowed, helped or hindered by the presidential election?

I'm not surprised that there were no comments.

But I can't wait to find out what the full story is. There has to be some unnatural force behind a marketing campaign by the Blade that was that big despite the fact that funds lost at the hands of the other political party was a couple of hundred times greater.

babbleman - maybe people are just numb to high ranking elected officials caught up in zipper problems. To name a few: former NY Gov. Elliot Spitzer, his replacement New York Gov. David Paterson, Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, former New Jersey Gov. James McGreevey, Louisiana Senator David Vitter, former Senator Larry Craig, Rep. Mark Foley, Rep. Vito Fossella and of course, the all time champ - former Pres. William Clinton.

Except for the fact that Dann's entire office was an amoral Frat house and that he was too dumb to bow out before they started to 'investigate' this is just a run of the mill elected official sex scandal.

Thoughts about the "full story".

One: There may very well be something there. But just as likely the Democrats had to get out in front of this and get on it hard, else they left the Republicans an open issue that they could dredge up in the fall campaign.

Two: Maybe the Blade didn't want to be perceived as playing favorites (odd for them I know) given how hard they initially went after Noe when at first it didnt seem as though there was any 'there' 'there'.

Dan ****** us all with his antics. He was opposing lakefront landowners who would take away your constitutional right to walk the waterfront between high and low water marks. The governor, who is intent on acting like a republican so as to avoid criticism should Hillary emerge on top and select him as a running mate, wants to go by the ficticous and fraudulent deed language found on many lakefront lots, claiming ownership of the lake bottom.

Dan really screwed up, and the gov is a coward. He's tip-toeing that line to avoid republican and uber conservative rich asshole's criticisms.

Politicians should be elected by lottery, there's really no other way to exclude corporate (and rich pig) money from running everything.

That's a dizzying number of oblique connections that don't make sense or really add up there prime3end. But, please spare me and don't try to explain. Dann's gone. That's enough.
