Wood County Bobolinks

May 26, 2008 Toledo Naturalists posting

On our way back into BG, we checked the wheat fields along Anderson Rd. and also Chamberlain Rd. Bobolinks have returned to the area. We don't know yet if we'll match last year's 50 pair, but we'll keep an eye on the fields and try to get a good count.

And last, while searching the wheat fields, we heard a Northern Bobwhite call and were able to entice it to the edge of the ditch for viewing. I'd post the video I took of it calling (such a sweet sound to my ancient ears!), but I'm not that talented.
