I hope that God or other superior being has better things to do than listen to prayers for cheaper gas. Here's the link from the blade.

God is busy fixing the NBA flopping foul system, MLB steroid testing, NFL's lax cut off hoodie dress code...things of these nature.
God, could you hold a minute...I'm praying to Vishnu on line 2.
I was always told that God hears all prayers (I am not religious). I have to wonder when I hear something like this (pray-ins for cheaper gas), if somebody's more urgent prayers are not being heard, because God is overwhelmed with so many insignificant, silly prayers like this. I would imagine that if there is, indeed a God, then he'd be a little too busy helping those starving children with flies in their eyes in Haiti & Ethiopia, et al - at least, I would hope so. Perhaps this is why He didn't help out Mother Teresa a bit more - buried under the chants & cries of millions of silly, non-urgent prayers.
I somehow don't think that God is in charge of gas and oil prices.

Instead of praying to God, the group should ask the Lucas County Commissioners for more Gas Cards for Working Famililes if unspent taxpayer money exists like this time last year.
Right now, we have about 2 million dollars left in the fund and if we don't spend it, it could potentially end up back in D.C. June is our last month to spend it and the gas card program seems to make the most sense as it can help a lot of people in a short period of time.
June 20, 2008 baseline of Toledo-area gasoline prices via http://toledogasprices.com :
- Today 4.055
- Yesterday 4.000
- One Week Ago 3.979
- One Month Ago 3.806
- One Year Ago 2.867
The local price has been between 3.80 and 4.10 for several weeks now.
I think a better idea would be to spend more money on bus coverage and so on. giving people free gas is not going to solve any problems, and we must realize the days of cheap gas are over. it is time to be working towards new solutions.

LoL good one,, God is laughing his butt off.
He sees us witnessing a crime and we have no police to send to it, because the criminals are in cahoots with the regulators and "leaders".
God would also find a lughable irony, in that we want the poison that we burn in our cars to poison our air ,, to be cheaper....
Though I detest those leaders, crooks, and companies getting rich off of price increases they have falsely fabricated, the price is driving the development of plug in hybrids and pure electric cars.
Better than prayer, we can call our reps and demand that gas speculation be stopped, and that the U.S. start that Mahattan project to build alternative energy solutions that are not owned by todays criminal gas companies or utility companies. Decentralization is what will work, and take the theft out of energy across the board.
