Dog Catcher on Prowl Again->For Dogs With Nuts?

Does anyone know anything about a story I heard that the cops, dog catcher, etc. going after bulldogs, grabbing them up, and them billing citizens the cost of neutering them? It seems that the police are busy enough catching criminals to still have time to chase dogs, only to have to look between the dogs legs and lift the tails before making any arrests. YUCK!! You know, the dog catcher office might be on to something here.

They could teach the police this tactic. Any time the police see a person, who in their judgment might have violent tendencies, they could get out a pair of scissors and remove the perps "tendencies". Better still, why not get the people who brutalize dogs to make them vicious, and cut THEIR balls off?

Since I haven't read the exact details anywhere, have any of you folks any information on this?

I doubt it is bulldogs, but I will believe that it is american bulldogs, which are closely related to pitbulls and often pitbulls are registered as "american bulldogs" to avoid the additional requirements of pitbulls.

I personally believe that they should do away with "breed specific" laws and enforce a weight rule. Any dog over 25-30 pounds should be muzzled in public. Then there wouldn't be any confusion over pitbull/american bulldog/boxer, whatever. A dog 25 pounds or bigger has the potential to do much damage and no one can guarantee what a dog is thinking or what it will do.

Why not muzzle any dog who is outside? I remember a letter carrier telling me when he was working down-towna at the Main Office after another dog bite that he was once bitten by a little dog that he didn't know was there until he felt an unfamiliar weight on his heel, and turned to see a small dog clamped on the heel of the safety boot he was wearing that day. He said he had taken several steps with that "unfamiliar weight" until he turned to check it. "Cute" littel dogs can be a pain in the ass (literally).

In the course business involving entry into homes, I've never run into problems with 'larger' dogs - pits, dobermans or the like.

It's the smaller dogs - 'shit-zoos', chihuahuas, various terriers, and others like these that I've had the most problems with. I think the little ones have a 'Napoleon Complex' or something.

(Me) "You'll have to put that dog away before I service your house"
(Dog owner) "Oh, he doesn't bite"
(Me) "Does the dog have teeth?"
(Dog Owner) "Well, yes."
(Me) "Then he'll bite. Put the dog away or you'll not get installed"

If the dude holding the leash wears his pants below his own balls and hooks his hat to one side or the other, excellent chance the dog is not a labradoodle!
