The Dentist Stole My Wisdom

Had my wisdom teeth pulled a week ago and when i asked if i could keep my wisdom teeth they told me it was a bio hazard and i was not aloud to keep them. What are we coming too? The teeth that came from my mouth a bio hazard thats a joke, they told my friend the same thing when he had his teeth pulled a week earlier at a different place. Anybody have thoughts of why they consider teeth a bio hazard.

I don't know why. My daughter had surgery to remove hardware and wire from her knee (suffered a broken knee cap in a car accident) and they would not allow her to keep that either. Same excuse.

NORMALLY...anything removed from your body is considered a bio-hazrd, because hospitals and surgery centers no longer "disinfect" and "prep" little things to go home with you

my mom has my tonsils in a plastic jar (kinda wierd, but standard 1970-1990 if asked)

you have to have a "cool" doctor if u reallllllly want to keep parts of your body that have been removed :)

I've got the k-wires removed from my foot surgery last Jaunary. If you get loud enough they give it to you. There is no such true prohibition, only hospital/clinic policy and lazy surgery personnel who don't want to bother, hence the excuse. When I got mine they tossed them in a plastic bag, blood tissue and all. It was neat. Why did I want them? Sympathy of course. For a while I was able to waive them in front of my husband to remind him that I hade been through a horrible ordeal and therefore needed him to go out and get the newspaper (if it was raining) or empty the dishwasher or fold the laundry or brush the dog or ....... It lasted about a week.

Oh sure, first teeth, then surgical wires, then what? Next you'll want to keep your dog's testicles when they get neutered.lol
Just kidding. I thought it was weird too that they won't let you keep your teeth. After all, the tooth fairy has been dealing with them for many, many years and had no problems.

It’s most likely the excuse they are using so you don’t take them to some lawyer who’ll then fine some excuse to sue the doctor.

I still have my removed wisdom teeth, from the previous Age of Sanity (the 1980s). Now, apparently, in this Age of INsanity, you need to SUE to get your body parts back.

Either that, or find a dentist and negotiate that beforehand, when you actually have leverage.

I still have 2 wisdom teeth left. I'll sell them to you if you pay to have them taken out.

In a physical lobotomy you get to keep your mind in pieces. In a chemical lobotomy you get to keep your head in parts.

...
the procedure has since been characterized "as one of the most barbaric mistakes ever perpetrated by mainstream medicine"

Sorry to tell you this, but your dentist is a LIAR!! He scammed you out of something you justifiably should have received. Odds are he is a odontophiliac, or a tooth fetist. He probably has your tooth at his home being displayed or used in some perverse way.

The CDC (AKA government) says right there on their website that OSHA does NOT apply to giving people their teeth. Any competent dentist knows the laws.

http://www.cdc.gov/oralhealth/InfectionControl/faq/extracted_teeth.htm

"Extracted teeth may be returned to the patients upon request and are not subject to the provisions of the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard."

You need to confront this dentist and demand some retribution.
