Anyone Else Being Bombarded By Sales Calls From The Blade?

The Toledo Blade has called me at least once a week for the last six months trying to get me to buy a subscription. I have repeatedly told them my house is up for sale and I don't want a subscription. However, this does not stop them from calling...even when they tell me they'll make a note not to call again. Just for the principle of it....I have stopped buying the paper ( as i occasionally did) just because they tick me off.

National Do Not Call Registry

Since they don't seem to listen, the next time they call, tell them "Hang on just a minute" then put the phone down and go about your business for 15 minutes or so.

Nice! Real Nice, Dark!

You've just given some idiot at the Blah a circulation idea! (But...ah...I guess they're already doing that to non-profits if they accept philanthropic sponsorship from the Toledo Free Press!)

I was getting those calls a couple years ago. I was also told the calls would cease. They did not. I called in to cancel my subscription. When they asked why, I told them because of the calls. They promised I would not get anymore calls. I told them it was a last chance. I never have gotten another call.

Now if only Toledo would get a REAL Newspaper instead of a "Daily Block Editorial"

Could be worse, you could get the Monroe Evening News. Half the paper same price, looks like children write the articles, wait, children spell better.

Past Toledo Talk mentions on this subject :

April 10, 2007 - Filing Complaint for Ignoring 'Do Not Call' Registry (46 Comments) -

Well, the Toledo Blade is at it again. They've called me twice even though my number is on the DoNotCall registry. They're calling from that 866 number that was discussed earlier on this forum. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of answering one of the calls so I know it's the Blade. I have not been a customer of the Blade since March 2005 so they should be honoring the Do Not Call registry for me. Has anyone ever filed a complaint at donotcall.gov? If so, did it do any good? Thanks...

Excerpts from my comment back in October 2006 :

The phone spammers calling for the Blade to get me to subscribe to the paper are getting more inventive. I've taken a handful of calls over the past month or so, but two in the past week have talked about a little boy.

The first caller said a little boy was starting a paper route in my neighborhood, and the caller wanted to know if I wanted to buy the Sunday Blade for $1.00 a week.

A few days later, a caller said a little boy was expanding his route in my neighborhood, and the caller wanted me to buy the Sunday Blade.

I told the second caller that I have already responded "No" multiple times in recent weeks, and before I could finish my thought, the caller interrupted me and said they would take me off their list, and she hung up.

*69 said the call came from 866-324-4354. Call the number and you get a filled up message box for Northwest Circulation Sales.

Northwest Circulation Sales Inc
5301 Southwyck Boulevard
Ste 209
Toledo, OH 43614

Enter 866-324-4354 at the site whocalled.us, and you will get a message board of others who have been called by that number. The site also displays a map of the calls. Naturally, several people in northwest Ohio have been called.

Dont think any children even have paper routes anymore, kind hard for them to drive downtown and pick up all bundles of papers for their area. Blade stopped dropping off papers to carriers a long long time ago.
