My Neighborhood is having a Neighborhood wide garage/yard sale today and tomorrow. WestGate Area. East and West Linconshire off Central, and Queenswood off Secor between I-475 and the Big Boy.

The Blues Festival is back in Toledo, and it's this weekend. From doToledo.org and a Toledo Free Press story :

July 18, 2008 - July 20, 2008 on
Friday 6 pm to 11 pm
Saturday 2 pm to 11 pm
Sunday 2 pm to 8 pm

The three-day event will be held in Festival Park, next to the former COSI Toledo building. The feature on the second evening will be Shirley King, who is the daughter of blues guitar great B.B. King. There will be live music from 6 to 11 p.m. July 18; 2 to 11 p.m. July 19, and 2 to 8 p.m. July 20. Daily admission is $5.

The festival will also feature several local bands, including the High Country Ramblers, Big Blues Bob, Voodoo Libido, Quickness, Griswold Band, Ron "Crawdaddy" Crawford, Tom Turner and Slow Burn and the Chefs of Dixieland.

I think I'll try to see the Black-necked Stilts that are apparently nesting in Seneca County and/or go see the Clay-colored Sparrow again that's hanging out at Oak Openings Metropark. Both are rare sightings for this area.

From a posting at the Toledo Naturalists message board, a July 14, 2008 photo of a Black-necked Stilt, wading through a flooded field in Seneca County. It's a dapper-looking shorebird.

I am home for the day inside with the a/c. Tomorrow having a Home and Garden party(anyone wanna join or book a party)<--shameless plug. And then a chat party tomorrow evening. Sunday is family time, maybe hitting the beach or picnic at a park.
