Where to you go for your band (music) info?

I want to pick the brains of ToledoTalk members: I'm looking for online gathering places (networks, communities, etc.) where music fans go and talk about their favorite groups & singers, post images, discuss concerts, etc. and etc.

I know there are plenty of fan sites, but looking for other, more general sites. I know of LastFM.com (and a few others) but a lot of it isn't too active, in regards to discussions and such. The research is for a work-related project. I could and have searched for these sites -- but prefer real-world, real-person feedback and $0.02.

garageband.com used to have a pretty active community board, but they shut it down due to the immature and metal geeks took it over...too much profanity and nonsense. I imagine professor google will net some results. Take a look at Yahoo's "answers" and "groups" sections as well - for musician-related stuff.

Just went to Pitchfork Fest... it was better people watching than music.

Pick some artists you like then go on youtube and look to the margins.

Most good music seems to found via serendipity. Open 'ya ears.
