Barry addresses "lipstick on a pig" phony outrage....

oh please, like that wasn't done on purpose. come on, even the audience he was speaking too got it. hillary didn't deliver the line about hockey moms and lipstick during the most viewed vice president acceptance speech in history. it was an obvious slam on Palin, be honest for once.
on the flip side of this coin is the republicans blowing it all out of proportion. the biggest insult to a liberal is to pretend you don't care what they said. insult their idea of self importance and they get kinda snippy.
would have been far more politically effective had they just completely ignored Maobama and went about their day pwning up the campaign like they have for the past week and a half.
would have been nice to not hear the republican campact insulted, or the dems lie more than ever.
i'm getting so sick of this stupid crap. let Maobama be an elitist snob and insult her. who cares, most people are starting to figure out what a huge douchebag Maobama is. there's no need to dog pile. Maobamma will lose without all this drama, i wish they'd stop playing the dems games and just stay on the high road.
Is it too politically cynical for me to suggest that this was planned by the Obama camp? I mean, you look at the context of the quote, and it looks innocent enough. You watch the video, and I think some people made the connection. You dangle that little bit out there, see if the McCain camp jumps on it. They do, and you turn around and say "What? Look at the context of my speech, I didn't say ANYTHING like that! Look at how desperate the McCain camp is!"
It's kind of like when the mayor had his $20,000 shower installed... how many people called it a Golden Shower, aware (or unaware) of the double entendre?
Hell, I think it's a great line, even if it WAS meant to have a double meaning. And you know me, I don't give a damn about either candidate.

I thought McCain would direct his phony outrage at being compared to a smelly old fish wrapped in newspaper. But seriously, the media took the bait on this one. And who can blame them? The public finds it more interesting on comparing the candidates' positions on energy, education, national defense, etc. Plus, the media gets wrapped up in the horse race nature of campaigns: who is ahead, who has the higher disapproval ratings, who do most Western Hispanic suburban soccer moms with a double income favor? I got an idea: how about telling us what the candidates' positions are and letting us decide. About the only thing I agree with Rush Limbaugh about is that we have a "drive by" media in this country, a celebrity media who care more about being invited to cocktail parties with the politicians they cover than they do about actually reporting the news. Did anyone see David Gregory shucking and jiving with Karl Rove at the Radio and Television Correspondent's Dinner a couple of years ago? It's stomach churning (btw I would feel the same way if it was Brit Hume breakdancing behind a rapping Joe Biden...)
He was on Letterman last night and Dave asked him about it. He said, look, if I was referring to Palin, in their logic, she would be the lipstick to McCain's faulty policy.
Honestly, who cares one way or another. A week earlier the republicans were all abuzz over a fucking bulldog with lipstick. I am so ready for the debates.
Dear God, please let november arrive quickly. Can't take much more of this bullshit.

"Last October, asked about Sen. Hillary Clinton's health care plan, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., was blunt. McCain said Clinton's proposal was "eerily" similar to the ill-fated plan she devised in 1993. "I think they put some lipstick on a pig," he said, "but it's still a pig."A common expression, right?"
BAHAHAAHAHHAHAAHA.
When the McCain camp uses this as their best attack then it shows desperation. Reps have long criticized Dems for using the race card, but now that they have a gender card...
