What is wrong with Toledo Talk?

Why is every post on this site seems to be about national issues and a link to a columnist's opinion on that subject? It seems to me that there is plentiful local topics to discuss, like:

- Lucas county teen pregnancy article in Toledo Blade (Lucas County leads Ohio in teen births for 16 of the last 20 years).

- Reopening of the Ottawa Tavern

- The tough local real estate market

- Thoughts about the new downtown arena

- United Way's plans to demolish HQ

- Ohio GOP suing to stop early voting

I just think there are plenty of places to argue about national politics. But there are very few places to talk about NW Ohio issues. And don't tell me that it is in any way valuable to get the opinions of local folks on national issues. I don't even know whether or not most people on this site even live in NW Ohio, not to mention that I hear very little discussion on how these national issues affect us locally.

Just a thought.

Being largely unmoderated, the content of this site is what the users produce. So, as a user, if you want to see the content go in a certain direction - post it.

United Way's New Building Plan Debate - Ace_Face, began I assembling that page two weeks ago, but I have not taken the time to set it up the way I want, which would be like this page. I'll let you take it over.

I actually logged in this morning to write about the teen pregnancy article in the paper.

But, I got interrupted and didn't get a chance to log back in. (Still don't have time to write everything I wanted to...on my way out to the grocery store.)

I was shocked to see the girl who had 3 kids by the age of 17 though...yikes. (eventually I will comment on the story, but gotta run now)

Anxious to see the new arena open up. 2 years without hockey :(

Really dont understand why they didnt let the Storm stay alive for the 2 years during construction though. It doesn't look like they needed the area where the old rink was. They tore it down pretty quickly and last I checked there's just a huge mound of rock over there.
