Obama's Experience & Qualifications

From Glenn Beck's Arguments against Idiots archive. Yep, I'm copying & pasting again because I'm so efficient!

The issue: Obama's Experience and Qualifications

What the liberal (or in this case, misguided conservative) whiners say:

1. 'Barack Obama will bring UNITY to our country to finally get things done!'
2. 'Yeah well, Obama is a Washington outsider, which is exactly what we need right now'
3. 'Barack Obama is one of the great communicators of our time, he's a brilliant speaker who can fire up a crowd'
4. 'He'll bring change, and anything is better than Bush, right?'

Your winning, logical, reasoned arguments:

1. Really? Can you name even ONE instance where Barack Obama worked in a united way with Republicans on ANY issue? His positions are so far to the left, there's no way he could reach out to anyone but extreme left wing liberals. He's never shown the least bit of interest working with members on the other side of the isle. On the other hand, John McCain has "reached across the isle" numerous times...McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, McCain-Lieberman to name just a few. If your really want UNITY or bi-partisanship, John McCain is definitely your man.

2. Unfortunately, Obama has spent SO much time outside Washington, that we have absolutely no idea what he would do once he was inside. He was a "community organizer in Chicago, an Illinois state legislator, and a U.S. Senator since 2005. From that to President of the United States? Asked what Barack had accomplished to recommend him for the job, I was told recently that Barack Obama had "organized the Black people." Hmm. First, I hadn't realized the Black people were DISorganized? There's nothing worse than an entire minority group running around helter skelter, is there? So, thank you for that, Barack. That must have been during the "community organizer" days? But when pressed to name specifics on a legitimate accomplishment, Obama supporters are stumped. Even staunch Obama supporter, Texas state senator Kirk Watson, when asked by Chris Matthews on national television this past February 19th, to name just one thing Obama has ever accomplished, Watson couldn't come up with a single thing. Not one. This was of course, before Chris Matthews felt the "thrill going up his leg" for Obama, and pledged him his troth.

3. Adolph Hitler could fire up a crowd too. I'm not comparing the two, I'm just saying that's not necessarily the best recommendation for president. I went to a Barry Manilow concert with my wife once, he had the crowd (well, the WOMEN in it, anyway) pretty fired up. As for Obama's communication skills, I still like the fact that he communicated to us that we have 57 states, plus one he hasn't visited yet, plus Alaska and Hawaii...for a total of 60? Had he not communicated that information, I'd be under the mistaken impression we still had just the 50 states. Also the priceless tire inflation communication, just might save our nation, as well as the planet.

4. Uh, wrong. Karl Marx wouldn't be better than Bush. Neither would Vladimir Lenin. Let's not forget his quote from the front page of the Wall Street Journal a few months ago: "Globalization and technology and automation all weaken the position of workers," he said, and a strong government hand is needed to assure that wealth is distributed more equitably. Equitable distribution of wealth talk should frighten to the core all American citizens who love life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The one big bill to Barack Obama's credit right now is another of his proposals to redistribute wealth. It's called the World Poverty Act. If passed into law, it would take $845 billion from U.S. taxpayers, and redistribute that money to other nations through the UN. Sound good? If so, we'll see you in the cheese lines Comrade!

McCain and Palin are more of the NeoCon -- Con(con - to direct the steering of) . Convince people (who actually belive the spew about "liberals" (tax and spend, raise taxes, let our values go to hell)) and get their viewpoint to the masses to influence who they vote for. If people are that misinformed that they actually blame democrats for the shape of our economy (i.e. loss of lehman bros., anheiser bush, and Merrill Lynch to name a few) then go on ahead and vote for McCain and Palin. Go ahead and paint Obama as a Muslim and a tax and spender. I myself find it ridiculous that people on here and on a national scale have the audacity to blame the democrats for this bullshit. Our current state of affairs is a direct result of GWB and the RNC. The same people that want you to vote for McCain Palin this November. Fine.

1. Tom Coburn isn't enough of a republican for you? Transparent government isn't significant enough for you?

Ahaha : If then... it sure is going to be fun debating you for the next 60 days or so. Let's try to remember what Coburn said about lesbians in his state:

"According to The American Prospect, during Coburn's 2004 senatorial campaign, he quoted a local resident that in the town of Coalgate, Oklahoma, "Lesbianism is so rampant in some of the schools in Southeast Oklahoma that they'll only let one girl go to the bathroom. Now think about it."38 School officials have denied his statement.39 Coburn has also been quoted as saying:

“ The gay community has infiltrated the very centers of power in every area across this country, and they wield extreme power... That agenda is the greatest threat to our freedom that we face today. Why do you think we see the rationalization for abortion and multiple sexual partners? That's a gay agenda."6 "

Why do we care about Tom Coburn again?? Are all conservatives that ridiculous that they still believe that homosexuality is a choice???? The brain is a many splendid thing, and to assume that GOD declares what is right (heterosexual) and wrong (homosexual) is totally false, and to completely desregard that a higher power is in control of this anomolie, not people who assume they are doing the work of god.

Barry managed to win every race he's been in. Including winnning against his party's most popular living member.

Man, you guys are so emo...

1. Cooperative Proliferation Detection, Interdiction Assistance, and Conventional Threat Reduction Act of 2006 (S.2566)
Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006 (S. 2590)

Both most certainly bipartisan.

2. There are 136 Senate bills he sponsored, not counting the 650+ bills that he co-sponsored, at least according to Thomas.

3. Yeah... well... Godwin had to rear his ugly head sooner or later. Reagan was "The Great Communicator", but Obama evokes Hitler? Curious thing, that.

Hey Dub, you forgot the next three guys on the list...
Bennett, Robert F S UT R $107,999 $71,499 $36,500
Bachus, Spencer H AL R $103,300 $70,500 $32,800
Blunt, Roy H MO R $96,950 $78,500 $18,450

I'm just sayin'...

2. There are 136 Senate bills he sponsored, not counting the 650+ bills that he co-sponsored, at least according to Thomas.

Sponsoring a bill is not an accomplishment. Notice how most of the bills bills passed have dozens (and sometimes hundreds in he House) of sponsors/cosponsors. It doesn't mean anything.

Well of course it doesn't mean anything, he's not a Republican... geez.

"Why do we care about Tom Coburn again?? Are all conservatives that ridiculous that they still believe that homosexuality is a choice???? The brain is a many splendid thing, and to assume that GOD declares what is right (heterosexual) and wrong (homosexual) is totally false"

all religion crap aside (cause i think all religions are just cults to control people AKA fields don't plow themselves), how exactly isn't being gay a choice?

i mean lets break this on down for a second...

if it's not a choice, then your claim is that homosexuality is some sort of genetic trait that compels a person to be gay. as if they cannot control themselves and have no choice but to fornicate with the same sex...

so it's either a choice one makes, or it's a genetic thing.

i mean correct me if i'm wrong here, but if so then i have a serious question for you.

if it's not environmental factor or a choice, and it is genetic, then how exactly do these gay genes get passed on in ever increasing percentages?

i mean, gay people can't reproduce correct? so the "gay gene" would have a much harder time of getting passed on in the genetic code.

so by your theory, we should, over time, see a gradual decrease of homosexuality.

but we don't

we see it increasing, we see it in every movie, tv show, at the mall, at cedar point, in schools...

it's like it's become cool to be gay, like it's some sort of status symbol. there's exponential more gay people and bisexual people than ever.

so how exactly can it be an inherited, ingrained condition if by it's very nature it makes it next to impossible for it to get passed on?

it's like the shaker syndrome...they weren't allowed to have sex so unless they bring people into the religion there can't be more of them in the future.

are you saying being gay is a virus or something that someone can catch? cause that'd be the only other option right?

it certainly cannot be genetic, that theory flies in the face of all the laws of genealogy.

i highly doubt your contention is homosexuality is a sickness or a virus or something, but when you claim it's not a choice the only other option doesn't make any sense what-so-ever.

so again, if it's not a choice, how can it be anything else?
