State to get big federal bucks toward help due to foreclosures

Ohio to receive $258 million in foreclosure relief

Dayton Daily News ^ | Sept 29, 2008 | staff writer
Ohio to receive $258 million in foreclosure relief WASHINGTON — The federal government is giving Ohio more than $258 million dollars to help areas hurt by the foreclosure crisis. The funds have become available through the federal Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008, signed into law in July. Cities and other municipalities can use the money to renovate homes or tear down blighted properties. Cleveland, one of the hardest-hit cities in the country when it comes to foreclosed properties, will get $16.1 million. Toledo will get $12.3 million and Akron will receive $8.6 million.

Does this mean they were already planning a bailout in July?

This whole mess of the economy has got me really upset and angry with all the blithering fools out there living on credit cards.

I think every stupid idiot out there that intentionally went for a bigger loan than they could really afford should go outside and have a YARD SALE of all their crap they bought on credit. Use that money to pay off their damned debts and start over.

These are just a few of the things that I have seen someone go out and purchase using their home equity!!!!!!!! And they have 3 young kids to feed! WTF!

I have none of those and my life works just fine. If I can't afford paying cash, I don't buy it - unless it's like an emergency and a necessity like dental work.

It makes me want to scream when I listen to a coworker talking about their latest purchase (on the credit card of course) of something that is not a necessity (more like a toy) and the next day I hear, "I can't eat lunch today because I don't have any money" waaaah! ERRRR!

Marcy said we need 20 to 30 billion was it,, in her speech. Financial guys outside the market bosses say the most effective and cheap thing to do would be to buy up the real estate and sell it slowly over time. The only reason they won't do that is that it won't save the crooks.

Address the symptoms not the disease. A little off the mark.

What about cable, cell phones, restauranting?

Hey look Mr. Wonka, America is making money out of rain drops. Hyperinflation makes the debt just disappear. AHHHHH... soo soothing.
