Did they put together this ad because they had a hard time finding Republicans who had something good to say about McCain before he became the nominee? A couple of complaints:
A) A lot of those clips are old, from when John McCain really did take an independent tack. He's decided now that it is more important to be elected than to be a true maverick. If he was a maverick, he wouldn't have hired Bush's campaign team and would have gone with his heart and picked Lieberman as his running mate.
B) Most of those comments are just general compliments and courtesies that should be common amongst politicians. Unfortunately, you never hear Republicans (other than Chuck Hagel) say anything nice about someone across the aisle, so these remarks really stand out.
don't forgot, McCain considered becoming a democrat in 2001 & 2004
Sarah Palin is the only reason conservatives have to vote for McCain, whose votes republicans need, or McCain loses.
