The Secor Studios and Gallery are proud to announce the Second Annual "'Tis The Secor" holiday celebration. On December 5, 2008 the Secor will host a group exhibition featuring over 45 artists from the Toledo area. Along with the exhibit there will be several organizations present participating including the Toledo Museum of Art, Artomatic 419 and the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo. 'Tis The Secor is where artists, organizations and the community come together for a one of a kind fine arts holiday celebration.
1) A fine arts exhibition of over 45 artists, in 2 galleries and 3 floors of open studios tours.
2) A free children's holiday workshop hosted by the Toledo Museum Of Art Family Center. (5pm- 8pm)
4) Artomatic 419 T-shirts and buttons will be available from the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo.
5) A University of Toledo student exhibition in the 6th floor gallery.
6) A fine art raffle from Quest For Fire Studios.
7) Live music throughout the evening, including performances by Dooley Wilson, KBD, Lucian Townes, Steven Guererro, Seeking Focus, Undermind and 7 Deadly 5.

Great show and event. If programs like this were better advertised to the public, especially the 20-somethings who might populate downtown, you would hear much less talk about how "there is nothing to do in Toledo."
Great displays, reasonable prices (an what artists won't haggle), and a wide array of styles and tastes. Seasoned artists down to students still working to find their perspective.
Mrs. AHL and I spent a few hours their, had a beer, and enjoyed talking to all the participants.
I found myself thinking (as I was working out how to fund a purchase for christmas) how ironic and appropriate that Ben Konnop's loan program died this week. With the pieces available and prices asked, we don't need government help to make us buy art. We just need to know whats out there.
