Recently I called about a mother who became upset with her child that she held him over the wrought iron railing in her 3rd floor apartment. She claimed if he didn't behave she would drop him next time. One neighbor called. I called. This was almost 2 weeks ago. There has been not one out to check on this family. When I was told of this incident it was to late to call the police. How else can I push the issue with them to know that her children may be in danger when she goes in to her rages. She has had some problems with them in the past due to an ex and his family calling all the time, making up stories for a custody issue. So I don't know if they will believe when someone else calls. I get so sick to my stomach when I go visit my friend who lives across the hall from her and I see her and the kids. I feel so bad for the children I want to take them away from that environment. But I'd don't want kidnapping charges on my hands. Any help please?
Anyone know how Childrens Services works?

She is an acquaintance, her friend also happens to be my best friend. Which lives across the hall. Either the girl would have told her that they came out or she would have seen them, being that the apartment is very small. I know a handful of people who already has called.

Definitely call again and ask to speak to a supervisor who can verify that the call is being handled...

Take a video. Send it out press release style if the situation isn't resolved, in house or out.
But don't forget, that once CSB opens a case, they don't give out information to the public...so while you might have someone confirm that they're looking into the complaint, I don't believe they'll give you the details of what they find...

ToledoLatina, I work at Lucas County Children Services. Please call 419-213-CARE with an address and any names you may have for this family. We are very concerned about the safety issues you have raised, and if they has not yet been investigated, I will make sure we investigate promptly.
My parents were right... Michael Jackson IS a bad influence!

Be persistent, and call again if you believe children are in danger. I have worked with LCCS for many years (foster parent, adoptive parent, and panel member) and they take those calls seriously.
Also, how do you know no one has been out?
