TOLEDO -- _Assistant Lucas County Prosecutor John Weglian confirmed Friday
that Richard Brown, a candidate for the TPS school board, has been indicted
by a Lucas County grand jury on 4 counts of child endangering and 2 counts
of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.

According to Brown's campaign Website, he's an auditor and financial
management professional who'll "demand accountability for our tax dollars
and pursue a responsible approach to balancing the district's budget."

"Kids First" is a slogan used to promote Brown's campaign.

He's also described as a man with over a decade of experience "working with
young people as a mentor, mediator, advisor, and advocate." And he's
educated: a graduate of Morehouse College with a degree in Business
Administration, and now a graduate student in the Executive MBA program at
Bowling Green State University.

Brown, who announced his candidacy for the TPS School Board seat on May 6,
2007, is endorsed by the Lucas County Democratic Party. He's employed in
the City of Toledo's Finance Department.
