Rumor has it you could see it all over the Toledo area on Saturday 9/22 around 10pm. I haven't been able to find anything about it online or anywhere else, but it definitely happened.
Did anyone see that mysterious blue light in the sky Saturday night?

Do you really expect anyone to admit seeing it here, on a public blog? Now, since my real identity is protected, I can elucidate the rest of you here on the blue light.
Just after Y2K the US government developed a new laser variant that functions as a 'normal' searchlight or spotlight, but that the populace can't see because of the wavelength. Special government employees can see the light because of their implants.
The new illuminating device is purported to have a few drawbacks, as it turns out that inhabitants of the earth who are partially of fully non-native can see it, but that's about it.
I don't believe it was anything extra terrestrial (maybe??) but it was highly unusual. An irredescant (sp?), glowing blue "spot" in the sky. It could've been from a spotlight, I guess, but there was no "beam" effect. Simply a glowing pair of circles, randomly moving. I'm surprised no one else saw this.

We were outside and I saw it. Just like BulldogBuckeye describes.
Where were you when you saw it....and where did it appear to be? The blue was almost identical to those glowing blue flashers on newer patrol cars.

Have you bothered contacting the astronomy dept. at UT, yet? Because that's what they do; watch the skies.

West Toledo, in my backyard. Jackman/Sylvania/Tremainsville area.
Looked like it came from the direction of Sylvania/Lewis area.
The astronomers will probably tell you it was swamp gas. Anyone else old enough to remember that one?
I live in Rossford, Ohio. I was walking down by the Rossford Marina District at around 10:00pm with my girlfriend on Saturday night, and noticed the three (3) blue lights in the sky, it was over the Perrysburg area and flew right over us and went toward the downtown Toledo area, at first we thought it was the Toledo police helicopter, but it wasn't, it was three blue lights angled in a slight V shape. ( What a mystery )

I do know there was a mild geometric storm over the weekend. Could it have been the NORTHERN LIGHTS? Check out this site, I view it daily. It may give you some insite. And by the way, on occasion, the lights do travel this far south during a geo storm.

I emailed the Toledo Blade asking if anyone has reported any type of unusual activities on this night, and I have not yet received a reply. I wonder if they think I'm a nut case. Oh well, I seen what I seen, I know I saw it. It wasn't the Northern Lights, it was 3 small blue solid orb lights that looked liked airplane lights, but they were in a slight v formation. My friend and I both seen them, so they do exist. Beleive it or not.

I know this is an old post. But, my daughter just called me tonight to inform me of a similar sighting over the Maumee River tonight. My nephew was down at the river behind Marshall School(near 75) and called her to see if she could see it, as it was over his head. Sure enough, Toni, my parents and neighbors all saw it. She called WTOL and was told to send the pictures. Only one picture turned out, but you can just make out the lights. Weird huh. Just wondering if the mystery has been solved yet? Someone tonight mentioned a high powered light beam over at a Chinese place on Dorr and Byrne, could this be the culprit? I would think that would rotate around the sky and not sit in one area for 10 mins or so. My daughter will be posting her experience and the picture when she can get online.
