I am probably hyper-senstive (I am not Hispanic), but I am a little rankled by "Pancho Villa" on the Rose City Motors commercial. I watch it, and think "boy, that must be demeaning" to the guy who has to do it.
Of course, he might be getting a real kick out of being on tv. Maybe, like a guy sung about in an old Victorian "vaudeville song" that I borrowed from the library on several occasions and enjoyed. The lead of the song got into show business, and he was very happy that he got to play to the crowd "through the hole in the elephant's bottom".
Of course, it might be "good advertising". I remember reading somewhere that the purpose of "advertising" is to make you think of the product. And even though I am rankled by this commercial I do remember it. Of course, I have a car, and might not remember Rose City Motors when I need one.

Rose City Motors is a bad image for used car dealers, with or without Pancho.
